Kolkata Weather News: The met offices predicted rain and thunderstorms till Wednesday in Kolkata. On Sunday 30 April, the Met Office recorded a maximum temperature of 30°C at Alipore, Kolkata. The recorded temperature was lower by five degrees in comparison to the average temperature in this time of the year, says Meterological Department of Kolkata. Kolkata is expected to experience rain accompanied by lightening and gust of winds and thunderstorms predicted for the first week of May 2023.
The high humidity at the city added to the discomfort caused by the heat. However, the recorded weather on Monday was pleasant due to clous shielded the sun resulted in drop in temperature for the whole day. While on Sunday, heavy rain with Thunderstorm and hailstorm resulted in relief in the city. The city experienced quite rainy and cool weather past days and it is likely to continue till Wednesday. The weather in Kolkata will be less harsh this summer, with rains in the beginning of May bringing some coolness to the weather.
While going further on this, Met officials predicted and issued an "enhanced thunderstorms" for West Bengal till May 3, Wednesday. However the city, as of today did not recieved significant amount of rain as it was predicted, with less than 5 mm of rain record in Alipore on Monday. There was a possibility of showers on Tuesday as of today and the following days, as per the weather forecast by Meterological Department at Kolkata.
