South Kolkata, West Bengal: Medical Researches says Dengue Cases arising in South Kolkata has arisen as a big problem in West Bengal. As per a survey conducted by Kolkata Municipal Corporation it was revealed that almost 80 percent of Dengue Cases founded in the South Kolkata of the city. While the survey included among 20 percent of the deadly disease occur in the north part of the city. As per the reports rising Dengue Cases are rising from the areas of Gariahat, Chetla, and Bhelaha surrounding the Southern Avenue.
As per the The Statemen, among the most true reason behind this situation is the vacant lands, under construction buildings, and water bodies are more in South Kolkata. The situation is becoming worse everyday in the South Kolkata, if we talk about the rising Dengue Cases. It was revealed that there is concentrated amount of vacant lands in South Kolkata's which is not under clean environment and leads to rise in the Dengue mosquitoes. Large concentration of unhygienic water bodies in the South Kolkata is another top reason behind rising cases of Dengue.
Kolkata Municipal Corporation strictly prohibited anyone who seen throwing garbages at vacant places in the South City of Kolkata. As per estimates, the KMC has sent legal notices to the owners of 2100 houses and flats owners in the South Kolkata. As per the surveys KMC founded mosquito's larvae surrounding the apartments and houses, and ordered the owners to clean it. The surveys and researches where conducted between the mid of April 2023.
