The Aam Aadmi Party which is led by CM Arvind Kejriwal has appreciated the decision, with the party's Twitter account stating that, "Officers will work only through the elected government". Countering on this decision , opposition party Bhartiya Janata Party has critiqued the move made by Kejriwal. Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva stated that "now officers will be allotted to position not according to their capabilities but as per how much they are obedient to the chief minister". The decision will effect a significant shift in the working criteria of Delhi government which has previously complained of not having the authority to appoint or transfer officers.
